Foodcart : the optional & the routine

Foodcart has became a cultural icon for Portland, Oregon since it started more than a year ago.  The city allows several spots for clusters of foodcarts (what they call Pots) within downtown area.  The largest one may contains up to 40 vendors and you may find all kinds of food ranges from American, Mexican, Thai, Vietnamese, Middle-Eastern, to Mediterranean, and so on.

And how can I miss it for my first trip to Portland as being a taco lover? The streets with foodcarts are organized and clean, although there are always homeless people asking for change, which I have no problem with it since this is probably the most coin-changed place in the city. Tacos are usually about 1.75 each, which is absolutely great price for its taste.  During lunch hours, students/ faculties would come by the carts by PSU while most others go to the blocks in downtown area where it has about almost 50 vendors.

So, what's so good about foodcarts?  Good price, fresh food, smiling vendors, and convenient!  Of course, most importantly, for those buying great food from it need to respect the environment and try to keep it clean and organized.
